Do NOT pack your liquids of any kind. One leaky bottle can ruin a lot of boxes and furniture. This includes olive oil, cleaning products, water, liquor, wine, beer, sodas, vinegar, liquid soaps, and candles (melt).

Yes, we provide basic assembly and disassembly services.

We can disconnect and reconnect washers, dryers, and refrigerators, but do not provide additional electrical or plumbing services. Dryers use either a 3-prong or 4-prong power cord. If your home’s outlet doesn’t match, you’ll need to call an electrician or handyman (we know a few we can recommend) to install a compatible cord. Ajax Moving Services does not offer this installation.

We require you to remove all items from your dresser drawers for 2 reasons:

1. It makes the furniture lighter for our movers to lift without hurting themselves or the furniture.

2. We must tip dressers to carry them or load them on dollies. The extra weight inside the furniture can cause damage to the legs of the furniture when we move it.

Any assembly that requires drilling into your walls, specifically installing tv mounts or speakers.

For our full-service moves, we always arrive with a 26 ft truck, dollies, pads, straps, shrink wrap, tools for assembly and disassembly.

We recommend scheduling your move as early as possible—ideally a few weeks in advance, especially during peak seasons like summer. However, we understand that last-minute moves happen, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs and find a convenient date for your relocation.

While we take every precaution to prevent damage, we understand that accidents can occur. In the rare event something is damaged, we’ll work with you promptly to resolve the issue. Our insurance coverage and customer-focused approach ensure that we’ll make it right, giving you peace of mind throughout the moving process.

Our current truck that we use on all of our moves is a 26′ box truck. When we do furniture delivery, we use a Ford F150 with an 8-foot bed.

NO! Any additional fees or charges will be discussed with you ahead of time and in your quote email. In fact, other than our hourly rate and a truck charge we don’t have any additional fees for standard moves.

We will reschedule you with no additional fees if you contact us more than 24 hrs before your move starts. We understand that sometimes your closing date changes or your apartment isn’t ready on time, and we try to be as accommodating as possible.

For cancellations, if you cancel within 7 days of your move, we keep your deposit, and if it’s within 3 days of your move, we charge a 2.5 hr cancellation fee to cover the lost wages of our movers.

Yes! All of our movers have to pass a background check before working with us.

All of our movers have several years of experience working as a mover. Some even have over 20 years of experience and are eager for more!

Absolutely! We’re very experienced in loading and unloading Uhauls, Pods, Upacks, ABF Trailers, and any other sort of storage and moving container or truck as a part of our Labor-Only service. 

Yes, We recommend that you rent at least one furniture pad for every piece of furniture you want loaded into your rental truck. This includes one for every small item such as dining room chairs, nightstands, and small shelves.  You will need 2-3 pads for every large piece such as dressers, couches, armoires, etc.

We typically recommend at least 2-3 dozen pads for smaller rental trucks (14′-17′).

And upwards of 4-8 dozen for the larger rental trucks (20′-26′).

We do not offer any storage through Ajax Mvoing Services. We can provide you with quality storage recommendations in the areas we service.

We will not schedule a move to start after 2 pm, regardless of how small or large it is.

Tipping is not required or expected. That being said, our tips average around $30-60 per mover for local moves.
